Cross Party Group Meeting, 26 September 2007: Meeting to elect Office Bearers of the Cross Party Group in the Scottish Parliament on Palliative Care

At the end of each parliamentary session cross party groups are required to be re-constituted, and this involves submitting re-registration forms to the Standards Committee. Although the Cross Party Group in Scottish Parliament for Palliative Care submitted these forms in time, it would seem that this paperwork was not received by the Standards Committee. The group therefore has to start afresh as a ‘proposed’ cross party group.

The sole purpose of this meeting was to elect office bearers, to allow the necessary paperwork to be submitted to the Standards Committee and allow the cross party group to be re-formed. Letters of support had been received from Jamie Stone MSP and Roseanna Cunningham MSP, so the group has sufficient cross-party support.

The following Office Bearers were elected:

Convener: Michael McMahon MSP

Vice-Conveners: Roseanna Cunningham MSP and Jamie McGrigor MSP

Secretary/Treasurer: Pat Wallace, Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care
