National Audit of Care at End of Life (NACEL)

The cross party group met on 4 December 2019, but unfortunately not enough MSPs were present for the meeting to be quorate.

Claire Holditch, NACEL Project Director gave a presentation on NACEL. NACEL takes place in England and Wales, and is a national comparative audit of the quality and outcomes of care experienced by the dying person and those important to them during the last admission leading to death. A version of NACEL is also undertaken in Northern Ireland.
