good life, good death, good grief

Demystifying Death Week

Say their name

Tuesday 11 May, 7pm - 8.30pm, Organised by Compassionate Friends UK

"If you mention my child's name I may cry. But if you don't mention it, you will break my heart." ~ Author unknown

As part of Scotland's Demystifying Death Week 2021, we warmly invite you to join us on this online zoom event. We will let you understand why saying their name is vital for bereaved parents and siblings. They may have died, but we need to hear their name and know they are not forgotten.

People usually want to do the right thing when someone they know is grieving. But often they can feel awkward offering help, or worry about making things worse.

This is an informal event, where we hope to increase awareness of the importance of saying their name whilst also saying a little about the support that TCF can offer bereaved parents and their families.

After a brief welcome and short introduction to the work of TCF, you will watch a short video with bereaved parents and siblings - not actors, but real and bereaved families.

There will then be the opportunity to ask any questions of Sharryn McKelvie, our Regional Coordinator for Scotland and have a discussion about our peer to peer support. This will be in a supportive and safe environment where everyone will feel welcome and comfortable.

All are welcome, bring along your own coffee and cake. Book a ticket here: Eventbrite
