SPPC's draft response to the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill

The Scottish Parliament’s Health, Social Care and Sport Committee and the Finance and Public Administration Committee have both issued calls for views on the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill.

SPPC has produced a draft response to both calls. We would be very grateful to hear your thoughts and views by 31st July. You can feedback in what ever way suits you best – email mark@palliativecarescotland.org.uk , tracked changes, phone call etc.

The draft is based on work done with stakeholders in 2021 at an earlier stake of the legislative process, plus outputs of a workshop held earlier this month. In early August a revised version of our submission will be drafted, which will be signed off by SPPC’s Council (Board) before submission to the committees.

In addition to contributing to SPPC’s response, individuals and organisations can make their own responses here. Feel free to draw on the content of the SPPC draft if that is helpful.

Read the SPPC's draft response here.

We are sorry about the fairly tight timescale across the summer holidays. This is an unavoidable consequence of the timeline set by the committees.
