Assisted Dying Bill - Perspectives Informed by Palliative Care

The February meeting of the Palliative Care Cross Party Group focused on the Assisted Dying for Terminally Ill Adults (Scotland) Bill,  exploring perspectives on the bill informed by the practice and provision of palliative care. 

Libby Ferguson, Medical Director for Marie Curie Scotland and Consultant in Palliative Care in NHSGG&C gave a presentation providing background information on palliative care.  Further presentations were given by representatives of the following organisations:

• Scottish Partnership for Palliative Care
• Association for Palliative Medicine
• Royal College of GPs
• Hospice UK
