Abstract

This report provides a guide to what can and should be done to help the ‘in between’ group of those facing the transition from childhood to adulthood. The opportunity was taken to involve a relevant reference group of young people in the production of this report. The needs of young people are very different from those of children and adults, and special thought needs to be given as to how to provide for these. This report is not prescriptive about how services should be provided but sets out principles, which all members of the caring team can adapt to local needs.
